The Montreal Canadiens hit rock bottom on Wednesday's night, in a 4-1 embarrassing loss to the Bruins, on an evening where head coach Claude Julien was supposed to celebrate his return to Boston.
You better believe Julien has hinted at general manager Marc Bergevin that it is now time to do something. And something big might be on the way. NHL insider Darren Dreger has mentioned it for weeks now: several players are on the market and amongst them there is of course captain Max Pacioretty, young forward Alex Galcehnyuk and now gritty winger Andrew Shaw.
Some experts have been saying in the recent weeks that the San Jose Sharks might have interest for the 29-year-old player, but what if Pacioretty were to be moved close... Real close. According to Hockey Buzz, there is a crazy deal linking Pacioretty to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The crew discussed it on Thursday, where there seems to be something going on between the two rival clubs.
"I am told the price coming back to Montreal would make you question why both of these teams would trade with each other...a very crazy deal."
There was a recent rumor hinting that a potential return for Pacioretty in Toronto would be a plethora of prospects.
The price tag for the Habs captain reportedly being Josh Leivo, Travis Dermont, Connor Carrick, Frederik Gauthier, one of Jeremy Bracco or Adam Brooks, and two 2018 second round picks.
Do you think both clubs will pull the trigger on this deal?
