Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews has made a stunning confession regarding the nature of his injury.
Many have suspected for weeks that Leafs' forward has been sitting on the sidelines due to a concussion, but no one in or around the team has been able to confirm that rumor, until now.
According to a report from TSN's Kristen Shilton Matthews admitted on Friday that he had been suffering "normal concussion symptoms" during his time off due to injury, seemingly confirming the rumors of a concussion.
The comments are particularly interesting considering how hard the Maple Leafs worked to deny the fact that Matthews had suffered any kind of head injury. Head coach Mike Babcock even responded by saying "I didn't know he had a concussion," when he was asked a direct question about the injury.
Nonetheless the important thing for the Leafs is Matthews now appears to be recovering quickly, and as a result he could play as early as this week-end.
