The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned young defenseman Ville Pokka to the Rockford Icehogs (AHL), the team announced on Monday. The Finnish defenseman hasn't play a game with the Blackhawks this season.
Drafted 34th overall by the New York Islanders in 2012, was acquired via trade by the Blackhawks in 2014, in a deal that sent defenseman Nick Leddy to the Islanders. In 257 games played at the AHL level, the 23-year old defenseman registered 121 points (regular season and playoffs included).
The Blackhawks are playing their next game on Thursday night against the Dallas Stars.
