The Philadelphia Flyers have been linked to a number of trade rumors as of late, and the massive scouting presence at tonight's game may confirm the validity of those rumors.
The Flyers are welcoming the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night and Flyers insider Dave Isaac is now reporting that no fewer than nine teams have showed up to scout the game.
According to Isaac those teams are the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and New York Islanders.
Of particular interest here for the Flyers are the St. Louis Blues, a team general manager Ron Hextall has shown a willingness to deal with, as well as the Ottawa Senators. The Senators have reportedly been desperately searching for a forward to help turn their season around, and if Hextall can find a fit he could potentially get a big return from the desperate Senators.
It has to be said however that any trade discussed this evening could only take effect on December 28th after the National Hockey League's roster freeze.
