For the second time this month, Chicago Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford received some bad news. It has been revealed on Wednesday that the goalie is back on injured reserve.

Back on Dec. 1st, Crawford was placed on IR after an unclear injury took place in the last week of November.

The loss of Crawford for any length of time - and now for the second time this season - is a huge blow for Chicago, which was just starting to play a little better after a mediocre start.

The 32-year-old Crawford is 16-9-2 with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in 28 games.

Anton Forsberg has been serving as Crawford’s backup, going 1-4-3 with a 3.13 GAA in 11 games in his first season with Chicago. Jeff Glass has also been recalled.
