Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock confirmed that star forward Auston Matthews will be missing a fourth straight game tonight with an upper body injury, as reported on Twitter by hockey insider Kristen Shilton. The Maple Leafs are playing against the Detroit Red Wings tonight.
Prior to his injury, the 20-year old forward has registered 26 points in 26 games played this season. The Leafs drafted him first overall in 2016. In his first season in the NHL, the San Ramon, California native scored 40 goals and added 29 assists for 69 total points in 82 games played. He added five points in six playoff games.
The Leafs are currently second in the Atlantic division with a record of 20-12-1.
