Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced that the team has recalled forward Peter Cehlarik from Providence on an emergency basis. Cehlarik is expected to join the Bruins for Wednesday's practice at Warrior Ice Arena.

The 22-year-old has one goal and two points in five games with Boston this season. He also has recorded six goals and seven assists with a plus-four rating in 17 games with Providence this year.

Originally selected by Boston in the third round (90th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Cehlarik is expected to fill holes left by the injured Anders Bjork and David Backes

Bjork only played in 2:43 of ice time Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks before leaving the game with an injury. Backes also left the game early after taking a hit high and laying motionless on the ice.

Brad Marchand is also missing due to a suspension and top-pairing defenseman Charlie McAvoy and forward Noel Acciari are sidelined with injuries as well...
