Dennis Rasmussen’s time with the Anaheim Ducks seems over.
The Ducks placed Rasmussen on waivers Monday, as now NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that his contract is to be terminated as he cleared on Tuesday.
Bob McKenzie has first reported the news of both parties looking to put an end to the deal.
Rasmussen first cleared waivers back on Dec. 29 and was sent down to the Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate in San Diego. The 27-year-old center has four goals and six assists in 17 games with the Gulls.
The Ducks can terminate the remainder of the one-year, $750,000 contract Rasmussen signed back in July as a free agent. Rasmussen took part in 27 games with Anaheim, in which he tallied a goal and three assists.
Since no other NHL team has claimed him, Rasmussen could now be playing in his native Sweden or elsewhere overseas.
Time will tell!
