Breaking: Great news for the Oilers and Talbot!

This is way better than first expected

The Edmonton Oilers made a major announcement on Friday when it was confirmed that starting netminder Cam Talbot was taken off the injured reserve.

Talbot took part in Thursday's practice and now is a clear possibility for Saturday's contest against the Minnesota Wild.

On Friday, it was also announced that goalie Nick Ellis was sent back to the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL.

Talbot said himself on Thursday that he was hoping to be back in the crease in "less than a week", though this report moves that timeline forward a few days. He is ahead of schedule and that's great news.

Despite going just 3-3-0 in the absence of Talbot, Edmonton's play needs a boost and Talbot could propel his team to better results.
