Is this the end for the 32-year-old rookie?

The Chicago Blackhawks have placed goaltender Jeff Glass on waivers.

The 32-year-old NHL rookie has played 14 games for the Hawks this season, picking up just three wins along the way. Glass, along with backup Anton Forsberg, has struggled MIGHTILY since starter Corey Crawford went down with an injury in December.

With this news, it’s expected that J.F. Berube will be recalled from the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs at some point today.

The 26-year-old Berube sports a 2.37 GAA and .920 save percentage in 15 games with the IceHogs this season.

The former New York Islanders goaltender hasn’t really received an extended look at the NHL level. With Hawks starter Corey Crawford still on the shelf and with the team’s playoff chances dwindling by the moment, is it time to give Berube a fair shot?
