The AHL All-Star game is around the corner, and two Pittsburgh Penguins prospects have been invited to participate in the event.
Daniel Sprong and Casey DeSmith have had strong seasons for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and earned the invite to the All-Star festivities, which take place in Utica, New York on January 28th and 29th.
Sprong is currently playing in the NHL, and depending on his performance, Mike Sullivan and Jim Rutherford may be forced to keep him up in the big league, effectively taking him out of the All-Star game.
Sprong has 28 points in 29 games in the AHL this season. DeSmith is 10-5-1 this season.
