Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau has announced that defenseman Jared Spurgeon will return to the lineup tonight as the team faces off against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Spurgeon has been out since November 29th with a groin injury. His initial diagnosis was a two week absence, and he just about met expectations, returning only a few days later than anticipated.
The smooth skating undersized defenseman has an impressive 15 points in 23 games for the Wild, while he doesn't have a large physical presence, his absence was certainly noticeable.
The Wild will be thrilled to have him back in the lineup after missing the last 9 games.
