The Pittsburgh Penguins have been dealing with various injuries to several players all season long. It's been a rotating cast in the infirmary, with the current occupants being Conor Sheary, Chad Ruhwedel, and Matt Hunwick. Ruhwedel and Hunwick are basically healthy, and could be returning to the lineup.
Today's morning skate was optional, with several players taking the option to rest.
One noticeable player back on the ice, and sporting a regular yellow jersey, implying he's okay to take contact, was Carter Rowney.
Rowney has been out since January 3rd with an upper-body injury, but he appears poised to return to the lineup imminently. It probably won't be tonight against the Washington Capitals, however. If we should hear otherwise, stay tuned for that news.
With Conor Sheary recently announced as "week-to-week" with a lower-body injury, Bryan Rust steps into his position next to Sidney Crosby on the top line, and Ryan Reaves likely draws back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch.
Puck drops at 7pm ET.
