There was recently some interesting news that broke regarding the future of Calgary Flames veteran winger Jaromir Jagr as many insiders speculated that the fit hasn’t been particular beneficial to either side and that there might be a mutual out.

On Saturday, during the second intermission of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks' game on Sportsnet, Elliotte Friedman confirmed that both the Flames and Jagr are working on an exit.

Bob McKenzie also tweeted about the new saga, saying things did not look positive for the two parties to keep going in the same direction. It appears that a decision will be made shortly on the 45-year-old forward's future in the NHL.

Some might have believed that Jagr is looking to get out of his NHL contract to join the Czech Republic national team for the upcoming 2018 Olympics, but the future Hall of Famer has made it clear that he retired from the club by in 2015 in Prague.

It looks like the Flames might be looking to trade Jagr to another NHL team that would want to add experience and leadership to its group for a playoff run.

Once again on Saturday, as the Flames face the Anaheim Ducks, Jagr did not take part in the contest. He also missed Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, and will make it two in a row with his absence from the lineup Saturday.

In 22 games this season, Jagr has recorded a goal and seven points.

Back with the Pens?

Some wonder if the Pittsburgh Penguins would be willing to acquire Jagr so he could end his career with the team that selected him in the first round back in 1990.

Jagr would come likely cheap, near the league minimum and the Pens could benefit from a fan-favorite boost, especially after losing goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to the Vegas Golden Knights and the expansion draft...

What do you think? Where will Jagr land after all? Is it over?

Some fans have specific plans for Jagr:
