If you witnessed this incident live you won't be surprised that it has now resulted in a serious injury. 

On Thursday night Arizona Coyotes star defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Tampa Bay Lightning veteran forward Ryan Callhan we involved in a horrific crash into the boards.

It looked like Ekman-Larsson's back had taken the worst of it but Callahan headed off the ice with his arm limp at his side, and now we know that Callahan has been seriously injured.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are reporting that he has been ruled out "indefinitely." The Lightning intend to re-evaluate his status in three to four weeks before making an announcement regarding a timeline for his recovery.

In 29 games this season the 32-year-old Callahan had 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points and was a +3 over that stretch.
