The Edmonton Oilers announced late this morning that they have demoted goaltender Laurent Brossoit back to the American Hockey League.
The bad news for Brossoit comes in the wake of Cam Talbot returning to the ice this morning for an optional skate.
Talbot was reportedly suffering from the flu, but he's recovered sufficiently that he could return to practice today.
Al Montoya started on Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche, but the team fell in overtime, with Brossoit watching from the sidelines.
The Oilers return to action on Monday when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In other news, we extend our deepest condolences to Adam Larsson, whose father recently passed away during a visit with his son in Edmonton.
