The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent back goaltender Casey DeSmith to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins(AHL), the team announced on Sunday. They have also called up goaltender Tristan Jarry from the AHL.
Jarry played 18 games with the Penguins this season, posting a record of 9-4-2 with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.
DeSmith played last night, when Pittsburgh lost 3-1 to the New Jersey Devils. He allowed three goals on 38 shots. In seven starts in the NHL this season, the 26-year-old netminder has a record of 3-3-0 with a 2.24 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
The Penguins are currently third in the Metropolitan division with a record of 29-22-3. They will be playing their next game on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.
