The Pittsburgh Penguins have been dealing with injuries to a rotating cast of players all season long, and while two players in Tom Kuhnhackl and Patric Hornqvist were recently placed on injured reserve, there is some good news on the horizon.

Mike Sullivan announced this afternoon following practice that two of his forwards may make it back into the lineup tonight after extended absences.

Conor Sheary and Carter Rowney are both poised to return to the lineup imminently, whether that happens tonight is yet to be seen.

The team held an optional skate this morning, with many of the players taking the option to skip, so we don't have an idea of what the lines will be like.

Teddy Blueger was recalled from the American Hockey League yesterday and has a chance to make his NHL debut tonight.

The "reason" he is playing with them may very well have to do with seeing if he can provide the depth the team needs as the fourth-line centre. While Matt Cullen is an important target for Jim Rutherford, that plan may not come to fruition. Either way, it's important to know what kind of depth the team has should injuries arise.

We'll only have an idea of what the lineup looks like during pre-game skate tonight.

Puck drops at 8:30pm ET.
