Team Canada will be down a man at the World Junior Championship.

A breaking news report from TSN insider Bob McKenzie has revealed that defenseman Kale Clague has suffered an injury to his foot after blocking a shot and as a result will be sidelined for Canada's game against Slovakia on Wednesday night.

Clague was a Los Angeles Kings second round draft pick at the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft and was playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League prior to joining Team Canada for the World Juniors.

There is a silver lining here for Clague and Team Canada however, the x-rays have come back negative indicating that he has not suffered any fractures in his foot, so his recovery will be on the shorter side of things.
