The Vancouver Canucks announced today that defenseman Chris Tanev will be out at least two to three weeks with a groin strain. Tanev was injured in the 7-1 lost against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Prior to his injury, the 27-year old Toronto native scored two goals and added four assists in 25 games played. In 373 games played in the NHL, all with the Canucks, Tanev registered 81 points. He added three points in 16 playoff games.
The Canucks also announced that forward Brandon Sutter is seven to ten days away from a return on the ice.
Vancouver are playing against the San Jose Sharks on Friday night.
