Relocation and expansion are hot topic issues in today's National Hockey League, with Seattle being on the cusp of being accepted into the league by approximately 2020.
One well-documented city on the outs is Calgary, as they have struggled to reach an arena deal in Alberta. Gary Bettman, commissioner of the NHL, spoke out today in regards to the issue, and he just about confirmed the worst for the city's future.
If the Flames don't secure a new arena in their city, it's all but guaranteed that the ownership takes their team elsewhere. Where that would be is uncertain, although you know that Quebec City is chomping at the bit to fill their new Videotron centre with an NHL-calibre team.
