The New York Rangers have announced that forward Chris Kreider will undergo surgery to have his rib resected.
Following the surgery, he will remain sidelined indefinitely.
The veteran forward was already out because of a blood clot in his right arm. He has left a 1-0 shootout win against the Washington Capitals last Wednesday with 22 seconds remaining in the first period. Fans then started to worry about his health and they were right.
Kreider had recorded 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 37 games.
