Bad news for the Montreal Canadiens; defensemen David Schlemko and Shea Weber did not make the trip to Carolina with their teammates. The Habs are ending the year with a three-game road trip, but they will have to do without the services of the two blue liners.

Schlemko stayed home sick with the flu, and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Weber, who was shut down by the team before the Christmas break and was sent home before the Canadiens played agains the Vancouver Canucks last week, is still dealing with a foot injury and will miss the upcoming games.

The Canadiens have recalled defender Brett Lernout

More details are expected later on from head coach Claude Julien, who will speak with the media prior to Wednesday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
