The Tampa Bay Lightning placed forward J.T. Brown on waivers in the hopes of getting him to the AHL to get more playing time, but the Anaheim Ducks had other plans for the veteran player.

In a corresponding move, they sent another player to the waiver wire to make room, clearly preferring Brown.

J.T. Brown is most famous for being the only hockey player to protest the US National Anthem earlier in the season, during a political firestorm mostly taking place in the NFL.

Brown is also known for this little incident with a fan.

He's only played 24 games this season, posting a mere 4 points. He has 61 points in 286 career regular season games.

Logan Shaw, drafted 76th overall by the Florida Panthers back in 2011, had played 42 games for the Ducks this season, posting 8 points. He has 25 points in 150 games and is now up for grabs on the waiver wire.
