There is huge speculation of a potential trade in the National Hockey League this evening.
The New York Rangers have pulled veteran forward Chris Kreider out of tonight's game against the Washington Capitals and they have also indicated that he will not be returning to the contest.
NHL.com's Dan Rosen is reporting that no injury has been referenced for Kreider, so if he isn't injured why is he being pulled out of the game? Speculation is of course that the Rangers now have a trade in place and want to make sure he does not get hurt.
Of course the Rangers can't officially trade Kreider until midnight tonight so we don't expect any announcement will be made by the team prior to that time. It will be interesting to see if NHL insiders can dig up the trade before it breaks officially, if Kreider has indeed been traded.
