A National Hockey League veteran has disappeared from the bench during the first period and he has yet to return for the second.
It's unclear at this time why Minnesota Wild forward Nino Niederreiter left the bench, but Wild insider Mike Russo confirmed that he did take off during the first period.
Normally speculation here would lead one to believe that he is either being traded or he has been injured, however do to the National Hockey League's roster freeze a trade is out of the question.
That leaves only injury as a possibility, and unfortunately for fans of the Minnesota Wild that is not good news at all. The team has already been without Zach Parise the entire season and they can ill afford another big injury up front.
Stay tuned for updates.
