The Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have announced that they’ve signed veteran forward Ryan White to a standard player contract (SPC).
The 29-year-old veteran recently completed a tryout contract with the San Diego Gulls, AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. In 21 games with the Gulls, White put up three goals and nine points. Wild fans may remember White from last season, when he suited up for 19 games after being acquired from the Arizona Coyotes as part of the Martin Hanzal trade.
In 313 career NHL games split between the Wild, Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens, the gritty winger has managed 31 goals and 61 points. While it's unlikely that he works his way back into the Wild's plans, he does give the organization some much needed minor league depth.
