The Toronto police are seeking your help as they have released new images of a suspect who stole two world championship rings from the Hockey Hall of Fame last month. The police remains on the hunt for a man who allegedly broke into a display case at the Hockey Hall of Fame and stole a pair of championship rings at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.

The infraction reportedly took place when the man entered the building through the Spirit of Hockey store, and went into a storage closet that connects to a display case in the adjacent hall of fame, which was open to the public at the time of the burglary.

The items that were stolen are said to be a 1993 World Junior Championship ring and a 1994 World Championship ring that were held in the case. During the two tournaments, Canada came out on top as Manny Legace was named the top goaltender back in the 1993 tournament. Future NHL star Paul Kariya played for both teams during that time, and led the senior team in scoring in 1994. According to CBC, "authentic championship rings routinely command four-digit prices and are among the most sought-after items on the sports memorabilia market."

You can help the police find the man responsible for the theft with the description they have given of the individual and the vehicle he drove. Toronto Police constable Caroline de Kloet stated "it's possible" that someone visiting the hall of fame could have witnessed the theft, and added that the suspect then fled the scene and drove off in a rented U-Haul panel van. If you visited the Hall on Feb. 11, your help could be necessary in solving this case.

"That is part of the greater picture of this investigation," she said, adding that no other items were reported stolen. However, his vehicle of choice has indicated to the officers and investigators that the suspect could be involved in other thefts as  a van can obviously transport much more than two rings.

The suspect is described as a male between 25 and 35 years old, around 5-10" with dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue winter jacket, grey hoodie, grey jogging pants, sunglasses and a grey toque.

Anyone who sees this man is being asked to contact police.
