The New Jersey Devils were able to pull off an impressive trade a few weeks ago, when they shipped out Adam Henrique in return for defenseman Sami Vatanen. But what if they're weren't done yet?
In a recent mailbag segment, Chris Ryan was asked if the Devils could make a deal at the trade deadline, noting that they would maintain their current level of play.
While Ryan isn't sure Devils GM Ray Shero is looking to complete a similar move to the one that sent Henrique to Anaheim for Vatanen, he thinks Shero could make a small trade or two to solidify a position.
"If the Devils are still in the thick of the playoff race in February, I would expect GM Ray Shero to make some sort of move."
While all eyes around the League are on Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson, Ryan does not expect the Devils will jump in the bidding war, though he does see them adding defensive depth if necessary.
The Devils might not be done on the trade market, but they won't chasing any of the bigger-name rentals.
