The Calgary Flames have called up defenseman Rasmus Andersson from the Stockton Heat (AHL), the team announced on Friday. This move is connected with defenseman Travis Hamonic being placed on the injured reserve.

Andesson, 21, was drafted 53rd overall by the Flames in 2015. He played one game with the Flames earlier this season, without registering a point. In 22 games played in the AHL, the Swedish defenseman scored three goals and added 13 assists for 16 total points.

The Flames are currently fourth in the Pacific division with a record of 18-14-3. They are facing the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
