Huge rumors of potential trade between the Oilers and Bruins.

Big names being tossed around.

It sounds like Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli may be interested in making a deal, or perhaps several deals, with his former team the Boston Bruins.

According to Bruins reporter Jimmy Murphy, Chiarelli has personally scouted the Bruins in person no less than three times as of late, and furthermore Murphy claims a source has confirmed to him that the Oilers are among the teams interested in 23-year-old center Frank Vatrano. It appears that Chiarelli also "likes" forwards Danton Heinen and Peter Cehlárik although it's unclear what level of interest he has in either player at this tine.

Surprisingly however is the fact that the Bruins appear to be interested in making a much bigger deal, one that Chiarelli isn't particularly interested in at this time. The Bruins have reportedly expressed interest in Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins although when you consider the fact that he has 25 points in 34 games it's easy to see why Chiarelli wouldn't want to give him up.

It's unclear if the interest in Vatrano is at all linked to the interest from Boston in RNH, however what is clear is that the Bruins would have to give up much more than the 23-year-old center to acquire the former first overall pick at the 2011 National Hockey League entry draft.

The trade freeze is just a few hours away, so we may hear more very soon on this front.
