Montreal media members would most likely enjoy asking Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin in person what is going on in the Habs' trade plans, but they will not find him in the city.

On Saturday night, Bergevin missed the return of his former player P.K. Subban, whom he traded off to the Nashville Predators almost two years ago, and was instead watching the game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Wild in Minnesota.

Bergevin traveled there and was apparently attending important business as he was seen entering the office of Wild GM Chuck Fletcher.

The Canadiens are expected to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline, and Bergevin could be seeking the perfect trade partner for forward Paul Byron and Nicolas Deslauriers, who has been key pieces in the small success of the Habs this season.

Last summer at the NHL Entry Draft, Fletcher and Bergevin were seen on the floor chatting about many trade possibilities, as Alex Galchenyuk was rumoured to be on his way to Minnesota in return for defenseman Jonas Brodin

Some believe Bergevin might have taken the opportunity to check out Hawks forward Brandon Saad, who is said to be once again on the trade block. However, Fletcher and Bergevin did have an intensive talk and a trade could be made between the two teams sooner rather than later.

After all, the trade deadline is quickly coming up!
