Things got ugly in last night’s tilt between the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sure, the Wings dropped a 5-2 decision to the Bolts and looked bad doing so, but given their respective places in the NHL standings, that’s not too much of a surprise. What was a surprise however was when Wings speedster Dylan Larkin elected to drop the gloves with Bolts forward Brayden Point.

The two youngsters went at it with both of them landing some heavy BOMBS during the scrap.

Check it out:

Larkin, channeling his inner Brendan Shanahan last night! We love it! He comes up bloodied from the exchange, but didn’t show any quit and came back to play the remainder of the game shortly thereafter.

According to The Athletic’s Craig Custance, this is just the second career fight for Larkin, having dusted Yannick Weber back in October of 2016.

Lucky for Larkin he didn’t come up injured as a result of last night’s fight. He’s in the midst of a career season with the Wings, having scored six goals and 34 points in 41 games. This following a 32 point campaign from just a year ago. He’s on track to shatter his career high of 45 points established during his rookie season in 2015-16.

While it’s nice to see the Wings youngster sticking up for himself, we’re guessing Wings fans would rather see more of this kind of handiwork:
