Don’t look now but the Pittsburgh Penguins’ leading scorer Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin… nope, it’s Phil Kessel. The 30-year-old speedster has taken his game to another level this season, producing 15 goals and 38 points in 35 games.
Wessel is on pace to shatter his career high in points from the 2011-12 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. But, the speedy winger isn’t just having an impact on the ice, he’s also become one of the team’s most popular players off the ice. The Penguins fanbase adores Kessel for his always present smile and his self deprecating humor. Need more proof? Check out this exchange he had yesterday with a young Pens fan in Colorado:
How sweet is that? Kessel goes out of his way to make this young girl’s day. We love it!
