The Edmonton Oilers are trying their best to get in playoff contention, looking to win games and certainly hoping the return of defenseman Andrej Sekera will help them improve their current 15-17-2 record.
One way of achieving this looks to also be making a trade, after the Holiday Freeze. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli sounds close to move one of his young forwards, Anton Slepyshev.
"Have to think Edmonton moves Anton Slepyshev, too."
To make sure his plan is in motion, the Oilers recalled Slepyshev on Tuesday. The 23-year-old has one goal and two assists in 15 games with Edmonton this season.
The Oilers will now be able to display him to other teams looking for scoring depth on the market.
