One suitor gets mad at the Senators during trade talks!

Wow, this is going well...

We understand the situation is a tricky one for the Ottawa Senators... But, clearly, this is not going that well.

On Thursday night, the confusion of a failed trade attempt between the Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning went viral on social media as the deal was never made official. Let's be clear: While the Lightning, Vegas Golden Knights, New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Stars have all spoken to the Senators about acquiring Karlsson, the star defenseman remains in Ottawa. For now.

The Lightning is still trying to bring Karlsson to Florida, however, it seems like a major cap space issue is putting the breaks on the move. The Bolts are not however angry with the Senators.

Another suitor is. The Golden Knights have been working hard - since the past trade deadline - to bring Karlsson to Sin City. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, GM George McPhee is getting upset with Pierre Dorion's attitude...

"Knights GM George McPhee has been tremendously frustrated with the back-and-forth negotiations with the Sens, multiple sources have told us. Again, Dorion’s job is to do what’s best for his team and if he doesn’t feel the right deal is there, he won’t make the move. It doesn’t mean the Knights can’t be irritated," we can read this morning on The Fourth Period webpage.

The frustration has not yet put a stop to the ongoing negotiations between the two teams. A deal would reportedly include Bobby Ryan and Vegas would ship back a hefty package, and the names of Shea Theodore, Colin Miller, Erik Brannstrom and Erik Haula have reportedly been discussed as some of the pieces. However, things could escalated quickly and put a major obstacle in the road...

In the meantime, Tampa Bay needs to convince a rival team to help them out, and while at first the Rangers were believed to be involved in a three-way trade, seeing that the Lightning have only $3.4 million in projected cap space, per Cap Friendly. The Stars are also believed to be playing hard to land Karlsson as they remain in the running, however they still refuse to move last year’s third-overall selection Miro Heiskanen in the deal.

Lots of frustration around, let's see if tempers can settle and a trade can take place. Some people predict it could take place no latter than this weekend.
