This will sound like sweet music to the ears of Edmonton Oilers fans, who have it rough since the start of the season. But finally on Thursday came some encouraging news for the club.
Oilers goalie Cam Talbot hopes to be back in the net within days, as the starter is ahead of schedule, the Edmonton Sun reports.
“I’m aiming for less than a week,” said Talbot, who took the morning skate Tuesday in Columbus and said his undisclosed soft tissue injury isn’t giving him any problems whatsoever.
“I want to be back and they want me to be back and play, but at the same time, if I aggravate it or something like that then I’m out for an extended period again,” he said. “We’re just trying to find that fine line. Maybe I’m not 100 per cent when I come back, maybe it’s 95, but as long as there is no risk of aggravating it I’ll be ready to go.”
Talbot is looking forward to get back in between the pipes, which will help the Oilers and also lift some pressure off management to make a trade to provide better support in net.
This is what Oilers fans wanted to hear!
