The banged up Pittsburgh Penguins might finally get some good news on the injury front today. Injured forward Patric Hornqvist, who has been in an out of the team’s lineup all month with a nagging lower body injury, reportedly took to the ice at PPG Paints Arena for a team practice this morning.
This is excellent news for both Hornqvist and the Penguins. While it doesn’t exactly point to a return for the 30-year-old winger for tomorrow’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, it is encouraging.
In 31 games this season Hornqvist has 11 goals and 21 points, good enough for fourth in team scoring ahead of more lauded wingers like Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust and Conor Sheary.
