Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik will be a game-time decision tonight for the game against the Anaheim Ducks, head coach Barry Trotz announced today. Orpik is dealing with an upper-body injury. Prior to his injury, he produced five points in 33 games, with 34 penalty minutes and a defensive differential of minus two.
Brooks Orpik was drafted 18th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2000. The 37-year old defenseman played 934 games in the NHL with the Penguins and the Capitals, registering 180 points, and added 19 points in 125 playoff games. The San Francisco, California native won the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009. He signed with the Capitals as a free agent in 2014.
Washington is currently third in the Metropolitan division with a record of 20-12-1.
