Report: Komarov doesn't sound positive about a new contract in Toronto

Uncle Leo's days are numbered, and he seems prepared for it.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a decision to make regarding impending free agent Leo Komarov, and reports have indicated that his chances of re-signing in TO are slipping away.

And it seems he's aware of it.

Joshua Kloke of The Athletic recently sat down with Komarov, asking him whether or not he's thinking about this looming decision.

"I mean, not really. You think about it — you look at my stats, they're maybe not in a really good way right now. But in the end, I like to win games. I'm 30 years old, so maybe I get one more contract somewhere, you never know. But I don't think you should be too worried about that stuff. You can't really do anything about it, either. Just focus on the stuff you want to do."

The part about maybe getting a contract "somewhere" is quite revealing. He indicated later in the interview that he would love to stay, but his comments don't strike anyone as convincing, as far as what he believes his chances of staying are.

How do you feel about the likely departure of Uncle Leo? Sad, or happy?
