Report: Matthews out for a 6th straight game

Just shut him down for the Christmas break already…

According to a report from Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston, Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews will sit out tonight’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

While it’s encouraging that Matthews took to the ice for the fourth consecutive day, Leafs fans desperately want to see the kid back in the lineup. The team’s final game before the Christmas break comes this Saturday at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers. With Matthews clearly struggling to get over whatever ails him, does it make sense for him to play that game?

The best course of action might just be to sit the kid out until after Christmas and hope that he’s good to go on Thursday, Dec 28th against the Arizona Coyotes.
