The Las Vegas Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins may be in a position to help one another.
According to a report from Sportsnet's Sonny Sachdeva the Penguins and Golden Knights have already had talks regarding the possibility of making a trade, and now we may have a better idea of the pieces of that potential deal.
Sachdeva reports that the Golden Knights were one of the teams interested in acquiring veteran defenseman Ian Cole, and it sounds like a forward would be going back the other way to Pittsburgh.
The most likely options appear to be Erik Haula, a 26-year-old left-winger and 26-year-old center Cody Eakin, and considering Pittsburgh's need at center, both seem like they would be good options.
Haula has also played center for the Golden Knights this season so he remains a viable option and he has even managed to produce at a higher pace than Eakin has from the position.
By all accounts the relationship between Cole and Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan has deteriorated past the point of no return, so this move could happen sooner rather than later.
