The ongoing trade rumors surrounding Buffalo Sabres top forward Evander Kane won't stop until he gets moved, and NHL Insider Darren Dreger has revealed that he will be watching closely until a deal gets done.
Dreger revealed some more information on a potential Kane deal on the air of Buffalo's WGR 550 and rival teams looking to acquire Kane will want to listen.
"This is going to be a week-by-week thing, right. We’re going to watch this until he finally gets traded.” indicated Dreger on Friday morning. “The expected rate of return for Evander Kane is significant. I believe that, in a perfect world, GM Jason Botterill would get a prospect, a first-round pick, and perhaps an additional draft pick on top of that."
This may look somewhat steep, but Kane is the best player on the Sabres' roster right now, with 14 goals and 28 points in 32 games thus far.
“I would say that there’s limited interest – and I don’t mean that to be critical – there is interest in Evander Kane. It’s just a timing issue. So I would say that among the available Buffalo Sabres, he’s right at the top of the list of those that Botterill is getting interest in. But as far as I know, there’s nothing imminent at this point.”
We will have to wait some more to see Kane in another jersey, but some teams are definitely looking at him closely.
