TSN.ca writers did the hard exercice to rank the 25 best players to have ever played in the NHL , and Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux ended up at the fourth position on that list!
Lemieux, drafted first overall by the Penguins in 1984, only played 915 games in the NHL due to back injuries and to his battle with cancer. He still managed to produce an outstanding total of 1,723 points, and added 172 in 107 playoff games. He helped the Penguins to win the back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. The Montreal, Quebec native won a total of 17 individual trophies.
Wayne Gretzky was ranked at number one, with his 2,827 points in 1,487 games played.
