Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford is known to make calculated moves and quite the shake-up around the trade deadline to make sure his team is fully ready for the postseason.

While trade chatter has been overtaken by the recent rumors of Kris Letang being on the market, Rutherford is still putting blue liner Ian Cole up front for a deal.

Despite Cole being a frequent healthy scratch of late, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports he remains an attractive trade piece for opposing teams, and that is is unlikely Cole finishes this season with the Penguins in his recent article: "Trade talk 'not ideal' for the Penguins’ Ian Cole. It’s also inevitable."

Another trade chip could be hard-nosed forward Tom Kuhnhackl, who’s behind several young and talented forwards on the Pens’ depth chart and could benefit from a fresh start elswwhere.

Rutherford still has many chips in play, and we all know the GM likes a good move as the deadline nears.
